I had the opportunity to review a copy of Real Simple Weddings 2010 this week, and I have to say, I’m incredibly impressed by how much information is packed into every page! If you’re just starting to plan your wedding, and need a solid resource for everything wedding related, I would highly recommend this!
Real Simple Weddings is going to be your wedding planner in a box, essentially. Along with beautiful photos and ideas, it has a section covering every aspect of wedding planning, simply laid out right in front of you, along with a ton of common questions answered!
This magazine is an absolute must have, and because of that, I’m giving away a copy of Real Simple Weddings to one lucky reader. Comment with one of your toughest wedding planning tasks, and your first name, before Monday, February 8 at 5:00 pm EST. A winner will be randomly drawn and posted the following Tuesday.
Limiting the guest list was very difficult for us, since I am the first person of my age to get married on either side of my family! We wanted everyone to be able to come, but budgets just don't allow that :(

I love Real Simple! The hardest part about wedding planning for me (so far) is finding a dress (I like) under $500. Yes, that's my budget. I am a broke recent college grad and I have not found a thing. It stresses me out.
ReplyDeletethe hardest part is decorating! I don't have any opinions and my mom keeps pushing me to decide on table settings, table clothes, candles, jars with flowers, etc. Real Simple would be great for giving me ideas!
ReplyDeletethe hardest part for me has been figuring out my colour palette. Just when I think I have an idea, I change my mind. I need help!
ReplyDeleteWe really want to do a destination wedding, we've been together for 8 years meaning we've probably attended 30 weddings together and just want something totally different for own. We decided to go for it and booked a place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico which was such a hard decision because we know so many people (including possibly our grandparents) won't be able to make the trip. We think it will be worth it though to be able to do a wedding our way.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, it's all so tough! I'm such an indecisive person that I'm having a really hard time. Probably the toughest part for me so far is picking the photographer. I can't afford something super expensive and all the less expensive one's look less expensive, ya know? So it's a problem...let's hope I find one soon!

Ohhh this is a tough one as it is all difficult! I would say my biggest obstacle would be the endless options out there! i adore all things wedding related so I found it very difficult to committ to one color scheme, one dress, and one vision for the big day!
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part is picking one centerpiece, bouquet, flowers out of ALL the amazing choices. All these wonderful blogs keep filling my head with too many cute ideas.
ReplyDeleteTwo toughies come to mind: one is really trivial, and the other is much more meaningful, so let's start light. It's been surprisingly difficult to come up with the perfect shade of blue. Especially for the girls' dresses. There are so many different kinds of blue out there, and they are all lovely, but quite a lot of them are not what I'm looking for. The meatier problem has been trying to figure out how best to involve all of our closest friends, and I'll spare you the details there because I could go on forever...
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part has been how to balance everyone's vision of the day. Jason and I are learning how to compromise our tastes and expectations and we are carefully navigating our parents' expectations. The budget just doesn't allow for everyone to get exactly what they want!
ReplyDeleteBridesmaid dresses are a huge headache for me, too. Even though I just have three women to dress, they all have vastly different body types (pregnant, tall and petite). Certainly no one can afford to pay bridesmaid dress prices, but they can't go naked either!
I’m Heather (a.k.a. Bicoastal Bride), and have always loved the advice in Real Simple! So far, the most difficult task has been narrowing down our guest list. We wish we could invite everyone!
ReplyDeletePicking a reasonably priced venue. While you want to pick the best venue you see, at the same time, you start to think of the expenses that will be coming after the wedding, such as buying a house. So it is hard to settle on a venue that is great, but not the best one out of your options!
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, I am having fun thinking of having everyone together for our special day!
Holly
I think it's the venue. We're trying to find a place that's pretty as a ceremony/reception location and we can afford to house people at. It's a challenge, but it's neat to see what houses are out there!
ReplyDeleteLeah
Well, so far I haven't been able to find a venue that we like (and that will actually answer email reliably), and the nearest store that carries the dress I'm in love with is 5 hours away (and nobody else can order one for me to try on, apparently).
ReplyDeleteOh, and I can't get my future husband to get around to calling his friend and actually ask him to be his Best Man. (Honestly, that's probably the toughest, ha!) Do they have a chapter on "My fiance won't do squat" in there?
Finding something that represents my fiance and me is probably the most difficult... something between a courthouse wedding and a big fat greek wedding? We're working on it!
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part for me is planning on a small budget! When our parents gave us money for the wedding, we were given the choice of spending it on a wedding or saving it. We're trying to save about half of the money!
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING has been hard so far! But the most difficult has been deciding on the wedding party. I don't want to exclude anyone who is important to me but I also don't want a bridal party of 25! Finding the right balance is tough.
ReplyDeleteFinding invitations that made my heart skip a beat! After a year of searching, I finally found them!
ReplyDeleteMy toughest wedding planning task is narrowing down a theme. There is so much out here in blog world, in magazines and at bridal shows.. it's hard to figure out what's important enough that it becomes a Must Have.

The toughest part for me is knowing what "goes." I don't want my wedding to be hodge podgy, but sometimes it's hard to give up a cute idea just because it doesn't match :(
