Ring Care Tips

I remember how sparkly clean my engagement ring was when I first slipped it on my finger. Every year I go back to my jeweler and have them send my ring in to have it cleaned and buffed, just before my anniversary. I’m always taken aback at the difference that cleaning makes, and have become more aware of everyday care because of this.

I found a helpful article on Ring Envy today, about little things you can do to care for your ring between cleanings.  Not only does this article have do’s and don’ts, it also has helpful at home cleaning tips that can make your ring shine naturally!

Tiffany inspired engagement rings

Let’s face it, we’ve all taken a gander at the tiffany’s website… oogled at the sparkly settings and then frowned at that elephant of a price tag. Well instead of going into mad debt, we’ve managed to find some Tiffany inspired engagement rings, for those of you on a lighter budget! These options are still just as glamorous and unique, so take a look at some alternative bling!

Sapphire engagement ring

In my search for unique engagement rings, I came across this stunning emerald cut sapphire ring from the flickr album of Ralph Rayner at Rumor in London.

I love the contrast of the dark sapphire stone against the diamonds and white gold, it’s so classic! I always feel like it’s a big step to get into the colored stones when choosing an engagement ring, but if you want something bold and beautiful, this is the way to go. It’s unique enough to stand out in a crowd, but classic enough to keep you grounded.

Aquamarine stones

I'm loving aquamarine engagement rings right now, especially in this type of antique-looking setting. They're clean, bright (but not as flashy as some of the other popular stones right now), and unique! I found this ring at My Jewelry Source, which carries many more beautiful gemstone pieces.
Gemstones are often overlooked as far as engagement rings go, so you can usually find great deals, and incredible antique pieces almost anywhere you go!
