Monogram Cake Topper

I saw this gorgeous real wedding over at One Lovely Day this morning and fell in love with this cake. I know it’s not anything really unique or monumental, but the simplicity of it with the beautiful cake topper really sets it apart. I remember trying to find a monogram topper for our wedding, over three years ago, but never could uncover one that didn’t look overly chintzy or fake. This one is definitely not that, and fits the ambience of the wedding so well!

Mixed Media Cake Topper

I saw this sweet little post over at design*sponge on friday about Grace's fabulous wedding food, including the cake. I about died when I saw the cake topper, in all it's vintage-y glory. Grace commissioned Kate Runnels to design her cake topper, where she mixed a pair of vintage paper wedding figures with other mediums including some dainty embroidery.

I love the idea of repurposing an old cake top, and making it into a trendy accessory for your wedding cake, especially if you're going for that vintage feel. Go ahead, peruse your grandmothers attic, or even ebay for that matter. I guarantee you'll find that perfect little piece to sit atop your cake.

Lollipop Workshop

I keep telling myself, that when it comes time for my vow renewal, I'll be all set, since I've found about a hundred favorite wedding items since I said I do about two years ago. Until then, I'm enjoying some of these cute and creative finds...

Middleburg Folk Art Studio

Another take on the cake top, here are a few folk art designs from Middleburg, via Etsy. Artist, Susan, creates these little masterpieces through a process called papier mache. Her process is very earth-friendly, as she uses 100% recycled newspaper, water and biodegradable binder.

For a one stop shop for everything wedding related, you absolutely have to stop by Products with Personality. They have everything from favors and accessories to party supplies and announcements! I love this contemporary cake top, for the love birds! It's subtle, sweet and will obviously go with any color scheme! Picture this on an all white cake... can you see it?!

Glass birds by matthew stewart

I've been eyeing these birds down ever since I was searching for a unique cake top for my own wedding. We ended up waiting until the last minute to figure out the little details, and so I was not able to get a pair of these, but I can still dream! Check them out, they can be found at the Etsy shop of Matthew Stewart!

I'm still thinking of getting a pair of these for myself anyways, they would be adorable in my collection of trinkets and vintage items.

Custom cake toppers

I'm always looking for unique and custom cake toppers for brides. It's just that one little detail that can transform your cake into a piece of art. And then to be able to display the piece in your home, can be such a conversation piece!

I found this custom cake topper at oilpainta's etsy shop and about melted!

I wish I would have known the bride and groom featured in the topper pictured about, they look so fun!

I'm picturing this to fit in well with that candle light frolic in the grass style wedding. Yes, I'm still stuck on those. :)

sharp toppers!

Cake toppers have always been a love hate thing for me. I came very close to not having one at all for my wedding, but changed my mind at the last minute. It just seems that all of our options are so limited and mainstream. So unless you get a fabulous vitage topper passed down to you from Grandma, you will most likely have to settle for some type of mass made porcelin figurine.

Well, let me fill you in on a great find... the paper cake tops from d. sharp! The samples online are so classy and unique, plus they do custom orders! You could really get sentimental here with some recycled love notes or something.
