Try It On tool from OPI

Most people don’t know this about me, but I love nail polish! Maybe it’s the clean lines of the glass bottles all lined up in a neat row at the salon, or that tiny brush that creeps into every corner of your nail. Whatever it may be, it’s fun and feminine!

The reason most people don’t know I like this stuff — is because I never wear it! You see, I’m the type of person who thinks only certain colors of nail polish look good on me. In my mind, I will never be able to pull off bubble gum pink, goth black, or really any shade of red. I usually stick to a nice neutral shade of skin tone pink, or a cream color.

On my wedding day, I went with those simple tones, but would have loved to experiment with something a little more interesting, if only I had this tool —  Try It On from OPI! It’s the perfect little palette to experiment with any color your little heart desires.

Above are some of my favorite shades.

Moroccan Sunrise by Sephora

The design of the new Sephora Moroccan Sunrise Collection initial caught my eye. That’s usually how I role, picking out a book by it’s cover, I’m basically a packaging snob. In this case, it seems the product is just as good, if not better than it’s pretty packaging! This limited-edition collection is made up of gorgeous sun-inspired shades that are travel-friendly… perfect for that destination wedding!

Pack up your goodies, like the eye shadow ensemble, pot of gold loose bronzer, or the lip gloss into an assortment of classy gold and white compartments that make up the matching bag collection.

I really love the fact that everything matches!

Novalash: eyelash extensions

At my last appointment with my amazing stylist Beth, I picked up a brochure about the eyelash extensions they offer at the salon. I had never heard of the brand Novalash specifically, but had vaguely heard about the eyelash extension process. While all of the methods enhance the length and thickness of eyelashes, Novalash uses a safe, medical-grade adhesive, which is manufactured without harmful formaldehyde, unlike other brands.

I’m not sure if this is standard for most salons who offer this product, but at Indulge, you can purchase a full set for $200.00, which takes about 2 hours to apply, or you can get the mini set of 25 lashes per eye for $100.00. When cared for properly, they can last 6 to 8 weeks, and then slowly shed with your natural lashes.

This would be a great pre-wedding pampering session, as I hear it’s very relaxing. And just think, you really wouldn’t even need to wear mascara once you have a full set, which means no smeared makeup on your big day!

Blockbuster is back!

The original Blockbuster color palette is back at Sephora for a limited time!

I drooled over this product last year, but never managed to snag one, however today is a different story! I don’t usually wear a lot of colorful makeup, but when I want to I never seem to have the colors I want. With this palette, you can’t go wrong! Even if the 64 eye shadows, 32 lips colors and 7 cheek colors don’t satisfy your color craving, you can always mix them to get that perfect shade.

Check out the complete shade listing at the Sephora store!

Smokey eye tutorial

Happy {oh eight}! In honor of everyone's hangover, and washing off that crusted on evening makeup, here is a fresh new set of smoky eye makeup!

I love this new smokey "v" eye kit (with tutorial) from Bare Escentuals! This would be so much fun to use at a girls night in, or to prep your girls for a big night of reception madness. It's a great way to learn the makeup tricks from a pro, especially if you are doing your own makeup fo the big day. The set includes an eye shadow, glimmer and a double-ended smoky v brush.

Item found at Sephora.
