Shoes for a Tea-Length Affair

With tea-length bridesmaid dresses being all the craze, brides are focusing more and more on what their maids will wear on their feet. Of course, the dress is most important, but the shoes, oh the shoes! If you don’t want a matchy-matchy look, you’ll probably have to get a little creative in this department.

My lovely sister-in-law is planning a July 2010 wedding, and the topic of shoes was brought up recently. I thought about it for weeks and have finally come up with some ideas.

Here's a little background info: She’s going with an airy sea glass color pallete with a little bit of blush thrown in for accents. Bridesmaid dresses will be tea length (not this exact dress) and in a light shade of ice blue.

Solution: Metallic shoes are always an option, as they can be considered a neutral color. These first two pumps would bring in a nice warm shade of pink and gold to the mix. I also like the second two strappy heels because they’ll keep the focus on the dress. Because these are made with such a small amount of material, you’ll barely notice your girls have shoes on at all! Finally, the last few selections have more of a classic look—a blush pink or ivory pump.

And don’t forget a cute pair of flip flops for later in the evening!

Badgley Mischka Pumps

I love this Badgley Mischka shoe, found over at Piper Lime today... It's sleek and sexy with a little bling! Check out their new arrivals, and maybe snag a pair of their hot new fall boots while you're at it! My fall wardrobe is in desperate need of a shoe update — otherwise I'll still be wearing flats in the snow!

PiperLime: The Wedding Guide

I’m always on the prowl for hot wedding shoes, even though I have absolutely no use for them anymore, I still love finding that perfect pair to entice your feet! So as you can imagine, I was delighted to find The Wedding Guide over at PiperLime. They’ve teamed up with InStyle Weddings to get the top three dress trends for brides and bridesmaids. Then they picked out the perfect shoes to go with every look.

Amazing! Above are a few of my coveted favorites.

Shoe style

A lot of bridal shoes are decked out with bows and bling, and while that can be very pretty, you can get the same wow factor from a punchy color too! These are some of my favorite flashy colors...

red, pink, yellow, green, blue, indigo.

Bargain shopping

I love it when i find a bargain, sale or clearance. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (which can come in handy during a Michigan fall). So what better place to hit the sales than at the outlet mall! A few of my old college buddies and I hit the pavement on sunday afternoon, what a nice day for a shop!

I filled my bargain craving by picking up a pair of these babies. Now all I need is a pair of matching plaid collars for my black and silver mini schnauzers!

Emmy shoes

I feel like I haven't posted enough about shoes. Shoes, I love shoes!! What is wrong with me?! Well, here are a couple pairs of fancy shoes from Emmy: custom made wedding shoes. (how fun would this job be!)

The one on the left is a style found in one of her collections, and the one on the right is a personalized, one of a kind design done for a bride.

I love the outside of the shoe, but even more I love the inside. I know that may seem kind of weird, because no one sees that part, your little foot covers it up, but I honor designers who are that detail oriented!

*Cute site too!

J. Crew color splash

In the last couple of years J. Crew has extended their clothing line to wedding attire, which was a genius idea on their part. With the already established style, you can be sure their gowns and dresses will be stylized and chic on every girl.

I enjoy browsing their new collections from time to time and dreaming up a fantasy modern wedding world. The J. Crew dresses fit right in with my modern imaginary bridal party as they dress in black with fun, bright shoes. Wow, kind of like the ones above.

All That Glitters...

I am a huge advocate of hiding a pair of fun pumps underneath that wedding gown, which is why I’m obsessed with these metallic heels! Depending on if you prefer silver or gold, these shoes could potentially go with any wedding gown known to (wo)man. Not to mention—how fun are these—you can whip em out to show people your bling.

Clockwise from top left; Chinese Laundry “Willy” (2), Nine West "Jojus", and “Onyx” by Gina (this one is busting the budget, but I couldn’t resist!)
