tranSglass

By far, the coolest glassware set ever! I love that it’s eco-friendly, and so trendy! The gentle shapes, colors and finishes are unique and don’t scream “I have a beer bottle as a vase”!

tranSglass is produced in Guatemala from recycled and reused wine and beer bottles, andhas been accepted into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York!

Gorgeous Green!

Ever since I repainted my guest bath (a mellow shade of green), I've been on the prowl for more green things. Here's a little taste of green, until the grass starts coming back!

Postcard guest book

I just saw this lovely post over at weddingbee the other day... Mr. & Mrs. Cherry Pie were married in Montana and had a beautifully rustic reception. Instead of the traditional guest book they set out a stack of postcards and a vintage mail box, so guests could "Write a Postcard to the Bride and Groom – They’ll Get it After the Honeymoon". So clever!

I love the way this all came together, creative, rustic and unforgettable!

Capturing the rehearsal dinner

The rehearsal dinner is an important part of the wedding lineup, and often gets forgotten about, from a photographic standpoint. I recently read an article about a new trend with wedding photographers, as they take on the rehearsal dinner also! You can read more about it here, at wedpix.com.

I’m definitely liking this new trend, after all, it’s usually an intimate event with your closest friends and family. Not to mention, it’s an evening

If you’re set on capturing the rehearsal dinner, it may be a good idea to see if your wedding photographer will make an appearance for a few hours, that way all of your photos will have the same angle and feel.

If it’s way out of your budget, see if a few of your relatives or friends will stand in as wedding photographer for the evening. They’ll be thrilled you asked, and you’ll get a few alternative views to your special evening.

Postage Hike Due May 11th!

This just in: Postage is due to go up another 2 cents on May 11th, 2009. I just caught an article at The Bride's Guide by Darcy Miller, here, about the postage rate change, and followed that up with an article directly from USPS, here.

I would definitely read up on this and plan accordingly, it would be a disaster if your rsvp cards came up missing!

I'm definitely planning on stocking up on the forever stamps while they are still 42 cents!

Smith & Hawken: Garden Heaven

We ventured over to the outlet malls this weekend and happened to stumble in to Smith & Hawken, my favorite garden store ever! I was first introduced to the brand at Target, where they carry a small selection of their pots and garden wears.

The outlet was a dream for me, because everything was on sale! I picked up quite a few garden and home items for under $15.00! There were so many things I wanted, but it’s hard to plan a spring garden with snow still on the ground. I did however have my eye on some amazing outdoor accessories that would spruce up any outdoor reception! Above are a few of my favorites.

Aidan Gray Rusted Urns, Galvanized Carrying Caddy, Small Glass Cloche, Ice Cream Bucket Birdhouse, Modular window boxes, 3-Tier Wire Basket Stand, Vine Light Spheres, Set of 3 Topiaries.

NEW: Card packs at Etsy

I've recently been inspired to design with geometric shapes and patterns, and have translated a few of my early designs into folded cards. I love the punchy colors, shapes and white space that these cards hold, not to mention the fun, coordinating envelopes!

You can find the new cards at my Etsy shop, here!

Shopstyle

I give up. I cannot stop my endless browsing of the Shopstyle website! It's by far my favorite platform for finding that perfect wedding attire. I have quite the handful of weddings to attend this year, and don't want to be caught wearing the same dress to every one! So the first place I went to was the Shopstyle site for some easy dress browsing, they have it all! I love how I can narrow down exactly what I'm looking for, price range, color, size... and they have something from just about all of the top designers out there. I learned of a few new designers just today, and now I'm hooked!

Trinket findings at Ornamentea

If you're in to DIY projects and want to try your hand at jewelry or accessory making, I highly recommend checking out Ornamentea.com. This one stop shop has every little piece for making your fine craft, and much more! My favorite page is the Bits, Bobs, + Charms section, where you can find all the supplies to make those little details. The lovely ladies over at Elizabeth Anne Designs posted about their DIY Wine Glass Charms, utilizing some adorable cabochons and diamond glaze. That just goes to show you how many different projects you can come up with, using the little trinkets from Ornamentea.com. They even have those cute little memory frames that you can hook on to your bouquet!

If you're stumped as far as where to begin, check out a few project ideas here!

Custom destination invitation design

A good friend of mine is preparing for her dream wedding in Jamaica this May, and she asked me to help her develop the perfect invitation for the event. We came up with a playful and serene starfish motif accented by tiny bubbles. The invitation, accommodations card, and the reception save the date all accented the couples laid back personalities. I love the way they turned out, and can't wait for the wedding!

Moroccan Sunrise by Sephora

The design of the new Sephora Moroccan Sunrise Collection initial caught my eye. That’s usually how I role, picking out a book by it’s cover, I’m basically a packaging snob. In this case, it seems the product is just as good, if not better than it’s pretty packaging! This limited-edition collection is made up of gorgeous sun-inspired shades that are travel-friendly… perfect for that destination wedding!

Pack up your goodies, like the eye shadow ensemble, pot of gold loose bronzer, or the lip gloss into an assortment of classy gold and white compartments that make up the matching bag collection.

I really love the fact that everything matches!

Who's on the bus?

Transportation for the bridal party is a pretty vital element on your big day. It will determine how the flow from the ceremony to the reception goes. I always thought it would be fun to have a bus, especially if you have lots of people! These busses can hold a boatload and look like a fun time!

Potted centerpieces

I really favor the idea of having potted centerpieces, instead of cut flowers. Understandably, it’s a more natural look and doesn’t always work for every venue, but it’s definitely something to consider when picking out flowers. You could also opt for half potted and half cut flowers, to shake it up a little bit. When it’s all said and done, and it’s time to clean up and head home, these would make perfect thank you gifts for your people who helped make the day come together perfectly.

This arrangement comes to you from Brides.com.
