Macha Jewelry

I know I've been posting a lot about Etsy items lately, but I can't help it, there's just so many unique and lovely items! I saw this listing last week and have been drooling over them ever since.

I've been getting into jewelry more and more as I try to polish off my wardrobe for fall, and these beautiful accessories would be a stunning addition. Actually they would be stunning on the finger of a bride as well! If you're not really into diamonds, or are interested in something a little more unique, definitely check out this shop, here!

The Key to My Heart: Tiffany & Co.

I’m pretty sure just about any girl who likes jewelry has ventured over to the Tiffany & Co. website for a peek of their sparkly new items. I’m guilty—I’ll admit it. I haven’t made any big purchases over there recently, mainly because I loose jewelry just about as often as my car keys. And somehow the thought of loosing anything worth more than $50 makes me a bit sick.

Aside from that, how beautiful is the new collection of Tiffany Key Pendants! Any of these would be a perfect wedding day gift from your hunny, no? You may just have to drop some hints, maybe leave a few printouts or catalog pages lying around—and then give him the credit for coming up with the line It’s the key to my heart, and I’m forever giving it to you!

They range dramatically in price and style, so there's something for everyone—my personal favorite being the Petals Key Pendant, the Floral Key Pendant, and the Heart Key Charm.

Friendship Rings

Remember when you were a little girl, and you’d give your girlfriends friendship rings? I’d always craft something special for my besties, or pick up a few little rings while on vacation. Those pieces of jewelry represented our bond — our never ending friendship!

These days I don’t do much swapping of jewelry, but the thought still crosses my mind! I think I’d still be tickled at the thought of receiving a friendship ring, or the likes of... which is why I’m sort of in love with the idea of giving each of your bridesmaids a little symbol of your friendship — in ring form.

These little beauties from Etsy seller Patrick Irla Jewelry, are just perfect for that. This tiny three-petal hydrangea sets atop a delicate band, accompanied by a small accent diamond.

There are a few other fine selections to choose from, all just as pretty!

Check out the shop of Patrick Irla Jewelry here!

Vintage Hair Accessories from Lottie Da Designs

I’m all about brides ditching the veil if they so choose, especially if it doesn’t suit their updo or gown. To keep that bride feeling though, sans veil, maybe try incorporating a smaller detail in your updo — like these lovely creations by Lottie Da Designs.

Wear one in lieu of a vail, or to spice it up for the reception!

Lilly Queen Earrings

I don’t wear earrings very often, just out of forgetfulness, nothing more. But if I did want to dress up my ears a bit, I would definitely put on some of these lovely vintage style earrings by Lilly Queen.

Each set has something different going on, but they all share the same classy qualities. Nothing too gaudy or dangly, and the colors remain serene and natural.

Lilly Queen is having her spring clearance sale right now, so be sure to take a peek at the amazing prices as well!

Rachel Sudlow Jewelry

Found yet another cool Etsy shop while searching for some doggie swag. Rachel Sudlow Jewelry has custom dog tags, and much much more. These more casual pieces would be perfect as a bridesmaid gift, anniversary gift or just because!

I love the little sweet pea necklace, the heart drop necklace and of course the doggie tags!

Garnet Girl Designs

Check out these delicate rings by Garnet Girl Designs via Etsy. My favorite is the ballerina ring (top left), its natural looking, soft and sweet, and makes a huge statement on your finger!

Guys: Looking for something to spoil your bride-to-be with? Why not surprise her with a gorgeous accessory that she can debut while walking down the aisle!

Garnet Girl’s bio on Etsy pretty much sums up her design theory, and this is exactly why we love her stuff:
My number one inspiration for a design concept is color. I love bright, rich hues coupled with rough tooled bands, bringing out the beauty in both. I try to offer you elegant jewelry that you won't worry about wearing.

I'm a pearl girl, all the way. I totally favor pearls over anything else in my jewelry, which is obviously why this little beauty caught my eye. Delicately hand made with a splash of "something blue", this necklace would be the perfect addition to any wedding gown.

I love the packaging too, so classy! Visit Something Blue on Etsy for more beautiful designs!

Harmony: the jewelry and the dress

Bonnie from Bonita J, the online jewelry shop, has some insightful tips on how to pick the perfect accessories for your big day!

Pulling your entire look together for your most beautiful day is one of the fun parts of planning your wedding.  Finding the right bridal accessories to match that gorgeous gown is essential to polishing off your look.  A wedding necklace is the perfect accessory to draw attention to the detail and style of your gown and here are a few hints to consider when selecting your wedding necklace.

A beautiful draping lariat is the perfect wedding accessory for that backless dress. With luscious pearls and crystals flowing in a beautiful pattern down your open back, you’ll look stunning walking down the aisle.  This type of necklace can also work well for strapless gowns.

The sweetheart, scoop neck, and v-neck style gowns all have several wedding necklace options. Many accessories flatter these gowns, but a y-drop or pendant style necklace accents your neckline perfectly.  The drop style works well to add a simple and classic look with coordinating colors that draw attention to the neckline.  Other options to accent these gown styles are chokers, single strand, multiple strand necklaces and illusion style necklaces.

The jewel, bateau and halter necklines limit your selection if you want to avoid them overlapping your gown.  The choker style necklace or small single strand necklaces look the best. This is because the high neckline only allows a small area to fit a necklace nicely.

Portrait or off the shoulder gowns, asymmetric, scoop neck and square neck gowns work well with single and double strand necklaces.  A nice way to add a little drama to the neckline is to double up your necklace, have a longer and shorter version of the same necklace that you wear together or add a chunky style necklace for a fuller look.

Whatever necklace you decide on to compliment your wedding attire, pick the one you fall in love with, that makes you fell pretty, and accentuates your best features.  Remember that after the wedding is over, your wedding day jewelry can be worn for many more special occasions, unlike other accessories.

Here are a few examples of Bonnie's beautiful wedding accessories:

Dress-up your bouquet

Flowers are gorgeous by themselves, but you could always pair them with some bouquet jewelry for added glamour! Add a little sparkle to your blooms by using pearls, crystals, charms or even antique brooches! This can be a very special way to include a message, photo, or keepsake into your wedding day.

Above you will find a few of my favorites.

Modern Rock Ring by metalicious

I saw this amazing ring on Etsy and am loving this clever design! It closely resembles a hefty 2 carat diamond, but upon closer inspection, it turns out to be completely silver! It definitely makes a statement, and is just as stunning as a real diamond, in my opinion! I just love it!
Check out the Etsy shop of metalicious for more awesome jewelry designs.

DIY Bride : Inspiration board contest

Going through my daily blog reads yesterday I came across this post from DIY Bride. I'm not a bride (or groom, for that matter), so I won't be entering, but I thought it was a great idea for a challenge. I put my skills and resources to the test and came up with an inspiration board that totals $387.99, well under the $500 mark. It was a fun assignment, and proved that there are some amazing ensembles out there for a lady on a budget!

The gown is actually from the bridesmaid collection of Dessy, and was found at house of brides. At the Dessy homepage you can play around with different color options, and they have many! $139.00

The Ivory birdcage fascinator is from Etsy. $38.00

The shoes are Chinese Laundry from Piperlime. $60.00

The Paris-Ruby shoe clips are from Absolutely Audrey. $30.00

The garnet circle pendant is from Top Jewelry Stores. $44.99

The Narella earings are from Etsy. $28.00

DIY jewelry

I found this diy jewelry kit at papersource and thought... wouldn't these make creative place cards (for an intimate wedding, of course)!

Instead of having guests search for their name spelled out on a tiny card, string their personalized charm on to a fancy ribbon or flower and let them recognize their own picture plus their table mates!

Winter ice drops

This necklace and earings set remind me so much of a cool winter wedding. The ice blue drops would accent a white dress nicely and can be your "something blue". It's formal enough to withstand a fancy-shmancy event, but is also trendy enough to wear over and over again, after the big day.

Both pieces come from the Fleur Jewelry store by Brooke Berryhill, who has an assortment of other designs aside from her bridal collection.

These would make great gifts too!
