Autumn Mood Board

It's getting closer to that time again... yes, autumn! Luckily I love this time of year, where the smells and scenes tickle your senses. Aside from all the goodies fall brings, the colors put on a show of their own!

I absolutely love the deep saturated colors we often see in autumn, especially when translated into a wedding. However, sometimes it seems like brides feel the need to incorporate every single fall color into their wedding, resulting in a tie-dye effect. Since the colors are already so bold, think about possibly picking just one and carrying it throughout the wedding. You could even go so far as to choose shades of that same color, like this mood board from green wedding shoes. I love the dark pink and plum shades!

If I knew it wouldn’t turn out corny, I totally would have gone through with a Take Me Out to the Ball Game themed wedding. This classy inspiration board from Lucky n Love wedding blog is exactly what I would have loved to do! It’s timeless, outdoor and just plain fun!

Meant to Bee

A honey inspired wedding... how sweet!

As I’m sipping my honey laced chamomile tea this morning, it occurred to me that this sweet substance could be a great color and theme inspiration for a wedding! Outdoors, amongst the birds and the bees, is where you’ll find this spring-time wedding.

Color hunter

I love finding new color inspirations, especially ones that comes from nature (those are the best)! So it’s no surprise that I love this tool: color hunter

You simply upload a photo from your pile of inspirations and viola, it pulls colors, hues and tones from that exact photo. How easy! This would be very helpful to those brides just beginning the planning process, and may not know what they want just yet.

Above, I chose a photo from Martha Stewart Weddings, here, and got an array of whimsical colors to choose from. My prayers have been answered!

Potted place cards

I'm really enjoying this season’s trend of comfortable weddings. Ones with whimsical table settings and natural floral arrangements paired with practical yet pretty favors.

I feel like the last few weddings I’ve been to were at fancy places with a tight schedule filled with the traditional wedding events. And that’s okay, they were all beautiful and I’m sure pricey. But for once I would like to be able to take my shoes off and enjoy the grass between my toes, while sipping on a chilled beverage pulled straight out of an ice filled beverage tub.

Being more comfortable at a wedding is key to any guest, I can attest to that, which is why I’m a huge fan of comfy, natural, go with the flow weddings.

Anyway, on to the favorites!

Diy potted place cards by Martha. Directions here.

Yummy Izze soda.

Wine-o weddings

I've always been a huge wine-o, so it's no wonder I'm a fan of this wine theme wedding items. You can do so much with a theme like this, and it truly has little to no limitations! Red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, you choose! Colors are endless, just as the shades of wine are.

Pictured above: the centerpiece and table decor is from the blog of I Do Click Photography where they featured Katie & Andy, who were married Searsport with a beautiful wine theme at their reception. The wine cork place card holder is from Plum Party.

Winter Wedding Favors

I’ve always wondered why seasonal weddings—like Christmas and New Years—are becoming so popular. Being from Michigan, I never pictured myself in a wedding gown, dashing through the snow. But after seeing the assortment of wonderful themed favors, I am jealous for the creativity available to winter brides. The snow and ice are so naturally beautiful, it’s no wonder the favors that follow in their foot steps are just as stunning. You will see lots of silver and metallics in this season, and lots of sparkling snow!

For most of us, Christmas is all about discovering what Santa has put in your stocking this year, which is why I think carrying out this tradition as a wedding favor is genius! Fill these stockings—from Beaucoup—with candy canes chocolate or use them as a silverware holder! There is a perfect place for a name tag, which means a momentous keepsake ornament for your guests to enjoy at home.

If you’re into DIY, you could easily take on the project of sewing these at home, where you then have the option of picking fabric that matches perfectly!
